Goals such as qualifying for the UEFA Champions League or winning a domestic title can give them enough money in cryptocurrency form.

There’s a reason for all this!

The reason for this is Southampton’s sponsorship deal with the Coingaming Group, which will be valid for the next three seasons and will bring the club around £7.5m. Pounds a year.

This is even the most lucrative contract signed in the history of the English club.

Not the Only One

Southampton FC might be the first England team that its players will be able to receive Bitcoin but crypto exchanges and other crypto companies have already made payments to other European teams.

In Spain, former Real Madrid B striker David Barralit became the first transfer who was paid exclusively with Bitcoin.

Denmark’s hockey team’s main sponsor is the Bitcoin Suisse crypto exchange – which renamed the team’s headquarters into Bitcoin Arena.

On the football field, the most impressive sponsorship is that of Turkey’s largest exchange, BtcTurk, which sponsor’s the country’s national women and men football team.
