- The public testnet drew more than 3,000 verified active wallets, exceeding the company’s 2,000 target, according to RealFi.
- The protocol pairs USDrf, a liquid senior token, with sUSDrf, a staked junior token built to absorb losses first.
- RealFi renamed USDr to USDrf and sUSDr to sUSDrf after a community vote, citing an exchange listing requirement and a naming collision with a regulated issuer.
- Liqwid, SundaeSwap and Lace went live at mainnet, covering lending, trading liquidity and wallet access.
- A rollout to Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) compatible networks is expected about one month after launch, following a further testing period.
RealFi launched the mainnet of its Cardano-native real-world asset (RWA) stablecoin protocol on Oct. 1, the company said in an announcement, after a public testnet that attracted more than 3,000 verified active wallets.
The launch moves the two-token protocol from testing into live use with lending, trading and wallet integrations already in place. It enters a market where tokenized real-world assets held about $38.6 billion of on-chain value as of Sept. 27, 2026, excluding stablecoins, according to rwa.xyz data compiled by Stobox. RealFi’s testnet exceeded its 2,000-wallet target and recorded more than 91% positive community sentiment during the test period, according to the company.

How the two-token model works
RealFi combines USDrf, a liquid senior token, with sUSDrf, a staked junior token designed to absorb losses first. USDrf holders keep a liquid token, while sUSDrf stakers earn yield but sit first in line for losses under the structure described in the announcement.
The testnet, which debuted in July, targeted an annual percentage yield of up to 9% on the staked token, according to fintech news outlet ffnews. RealFi cautions that returns on sUSDrf are variable, not guaranteed, and that capital is at risk.

Token rename followed community vote
Ahead of mainnet, RealFi renamed USDr to USDrf and sUSDr to sUSDrf after a community vote between two vetted options. The company said the change responded to a centralized exchange listing requirement and a naming collision with a separate regulated issuer. A company post on X in August said the USDr, sUSDr and RFG tickers could not be listed on major exchanges because of naming conflicts already in the market.
(Ed. note: RealFi has not named the exchange or the issuer. Stablecoins using a USDR ticker include one from StablR, a Malta-based issuer regulated by the Malta Financial Services Authority under the EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation, and Tangible’s USDR, which collapsed in 2023.)
The release said the protocol’s governance token, RFG, keeps its name.
Integrations live at launch
RealFi entered mainnet with three integrations across the Cardano ecosystem. Liqwid provides access to lending markets, SundaeSwap supports decentralized exchange liquidity pools, and Lace lets users access RealFi directly through the Cardano wallet, according to the announcement.
“Mainnet is an important milestone for RealFi, but it is ultimately the starting point for what we want to build,” said John O’Connor, chief executive officer at RealFi. “The response to our testnet gave us strong validation ahead of launch.”
“We now have the foundations in place to move into the next stage of RealFi’s growth, beginning on Cardano before taking the protocol to a much broader market,” he said.
What comes next
An EVM-compatible launch is expected about one month after mainnet, following a further testing period, according to the announcement. The company said the expansion is intended to reach a wider on-chain market beyond Cardano. Ethereum carried 47.9% of tokenized RWA value in July 2026, according to rwa.xyz data compiled by Stobox.
The products are not available to users in the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong or other restricted or sanctioned jurisdictions, according to the release. The company ran a mainnet countdown event during Korea Blockchain Week in Seoul on Sept. 30 and is scheduled to present at the official Cardano Foundation booth at TOKEN2049 Singapore on Oct. 7-8.
