- Hyphenate spans order-to-cash, treasury, general ledger (GL) accounting and close, procure-to-pay, and reporting and insights.
- The platform layers onto the enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, banks and payroll software a company already runs, and the company said no migration is required.
- Mini Melts USA said Hyphenate’s agents run its orders, sales triage, invoicing and refunds end to end on its SAP environment.
- Maximor, founded in 2024 by two former Microsoft employees, raised a $9 million seed round led by Foundation Capital in September 2025, according to CFO Dive.
- The company said its next target is decisions that chief financial officers (CFOs) make about pricing, margin, investment and capital allocation.
NEW YORK, Oct. 2, 2026. Maximor, a finance software company, said in a statement dated Oct. 1 that it has rebranded as Hyphenate after 86x revenue growth over the past 12 months.

The company said the average customer now runs six modules and 40% of customers expand within the first year of their contract, well before a typical renewal conversation. The release said finance software spent the past decade splitting the function across disconnected tools and left people to connect them by hand.
Why the name changed
The company argued finance already runs on hyphens. Workflows such as order-to-cash, procure-to-pay and record-to-report are named for the connections between steps, and those connections are where work gets stuck, according to the release. A hyphen connects and modifies, and the company said Hyphenate aims to do both.

“Finance leaders don’t want a different tool for every workflow and another layer of people managing the gaps between them. Maximor came to stand for one part of what we do,” said Ramnandan Krishnamurthy, co-founder and CEO of Hyphenate, in the statement. “A multi-hyphenate refuses to pick one lane. So do we. We needed a name for the company we’ve become.”
Customer adoption
The release quoted a customer. “Its agents layered onto our SAP environment and now run orders, sales triage, invoicing and refunds end to end,” said Yameen Sarwar, finance transformation lead at Mini Melts USA. “We’re now expanding Hyphenate into treasury and lease management.”
The company said the behavior tracks how finance actually works, because collections shape cash forecasts, procurement feeds accruals and bank activity drives reconciliation.
What autonomous finance means
Hyphenate calls its category autonomous finance, which it defines as software that owns work through to an outcome rather than automating one task. The platform learns how a company runs finance, including the controls, historical precedent and judgment that live in workpapers and spreadsheets, and turns that context into audit-ready AI agents, according to the release.
The agents show what they did and bring in a person when a decision requires judgment.
Maximor was founded in New York in 2024 by Ramnandan Krishnamurthy and Ajay Krishna Amudan, both former Microsoft employees, according to CFO Dive and Sovereign Magazine.
The $9 million seed round, reported by CFO Dive on Sept. 30, 2025, included participation from Gaia Ventures and Boldcap. The round came in a year when AI startups grabbed 58% of global VC funding in the first quarter. CFO Dive reported at the time that the number of companies offering agentic AI tools was growing rapidly.
Basis, which sells AI agents to accounting firms, raised $100 million at a $1.15 billion valuation in February 2026, according to Reuters, and AI-native ERP maker Campfire raised $65 million in October 2025, according to Sovereign Magazine. Hyphenate positions itself opposite ERP replacements by layering onto systems companies already run, the release said.
What comes next
The company said operational finance is the first chapter, with the larger opportunity upstream in the decisions CFOs make. As the finance operation runs continuously, books can stay reconciled through the month and teams can scale without headcount growing at the same rate, the release said.
The rebrand arrived with a new tagline, “Finance that runs itself, so you can sprint ahead.”
