Pink detailing will feature on the MCL36s of Norris and Ricciardo in the two Asian races coming up. A more futuristic look for the orange cars.

Responsible for this change is the cryptocurrency exchange OKX, which is also a sponsor of the team.

In addition, the chassis will feature many illustrations inspired by the video game “Cyberpunk”. The OKX logo and the futuristic design will also be carried over to the drivers’ uniforms.

The choice of this change for the two Asian Games in Singapore and Japan is not a coincidence. Far Eastern countries have associated their names with new technologies and video games.

McLaren will also release merchandise in this color scheme. Finally, such a version of the MCL36 will be eligible in the game F12022.

This is not the first time McLaren has temporarily changed its livery. Last year, at the Monaco GP, the cars were painted in the colors of the Gulf oil company.

Red Bull last year also changed its livery for a race in honor of Honda. Specifically, the RB16Bs were painted white at the Turkish GP as there was no race in Japan last year.

As for this season, Ferrari also used a different color scheme in the previous race at Monza. The yellow accents on the two F1-75s were done to celebrate the Scuderia’s 75 years of racing.
