- Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG) is terminating a deal with crypto.com to create a $6.4 billion CRO treasury.
- The company is also abandoning plans to integrate prediction markets onto its Truth Social platform.
- TMTG is instead focusing on a merger with energy company TAE, citing shifting business priorities.
Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG), the company owned by US President Donald Trump, announced on Friday it is pulling back from two major deals with the Crypto.com exchange. TMTG interim CEO Kevin McGurn said the company will unwind an agreement to create a $6.4 billion treasury for Crypto.com’s CRO tokens and will not integrate prediction markets onto its Truth Social platform.
The treasury deal, announced in September 2025, would have allowed TMTG to purchase billions of dollars worth of CRO tokens, enabling Truth Social users to receive crypto rewards. A subsequent October 2025 plan promised to launch prediction markets under the service Truth Predict.
However, TMTG now plans to focus on a merger with energy company TAE. In a joint statement, Crypto.com, TMTG, and special purpose acquisition company Yorkville Acquisition Corp said “prevailing market conditions and shifting business and stakeholder priorities” led to the dissolution of the treasury agreement.
