Arrests and Domestic Incidents

In Biggs, authorities arrested a man on Wednesday after he allegedly pushed his girlfriend’s mother who confronted him about huffing nitrous oxide. On Friday, another arrest occurred when officers apprehended a man carrying an axe and tree limbs while walking toward Ophir Elementary School in Oroville.

Domestic violence featured prominently in the week’s reports. On Thursday, a Magalia woman reported being beaten by her sister, while in Oroville, a man claimed his friend bit him during an altercation, breaking skin. By Saturday, a hospital patient in Magalia reported being assaulted and pushed down stairs by her boyfriend. Sunday brought additional reports of spousal injury in the 300 block of East Park Avenue in Chico, and a woman in Oroville alleged physical contact by her stepfather.

Property Crimes Throughout the Region

Theft reports were widespread across the communities. On Wednesday, grand theft was reported in the 100 block of Nelson Avenue in Oroville. Friday brought an unusual case when a Paradise woman reported that her restrained husband had allegedly stolen $40,000 from her cryptocurrency account.

Burglaries occurred throughout the week, with reports coming from multiple locations including Biggs, where several individuals were spotted attempting to steal a pickup truck from a shop. In Oroville, victims reported break-ins at a locked trailer on Diamond Court and a storage shed on Lincoln Boulevard. Chico wasn’t spared, with burglaries reported in the 1100 block of Linden Avenue on Saturday and a residence on Little Ron Road by Tuesday.
