Over the past three months, SpaceX has unlocked a record $559 billion in insider stock, with more than $1.2 trillion in additional unlocks scheduled through July 2027. This surge follows the company’s $75 billion initial public offering, which now represents less than one-seventh of the unlocked value.
The largest single unlock occurred in October 2026 at $308 billion, but that record will be shattered next June. Elon Musk’s 366-day lockup expires on June 12, 2027, freeing 6.4 billion shares plus 352 million from other insiders, worth over $900 billion at today’s $143 share price according to Yahoo Finance.
December 8, 2026, also brings a scheduled unlock of 797.6 million shares valued at $114 billion. That total includes 455.8 million shares that missed their August release when the stock failed a price hurdle.
Share unlocks do not automatically add selling pressure, as owners may choose to hold rather than sell. Future unlock dates remain subject to modification by shareholders or the board of directors at SpaceX.
