- Natix Network has over 130,000 registered devices across 171 countries.
- The app uses AI to detect traffic, infrastructure, and road conditions in real-time.
- Users earn cryptocurrency tokens for contributing data while driving.
- Natix emphasizes data privacy and uses edge computing to protect user information.
- The platform aims to compete with Google Maps and Waze by offering token rewards.
Natix Network, a blockchain-based decentralized physical infrastructure (DePIN) project, is making waves in the world of navigation and mapping.
The platform, which allows users to earn cryptocurrency while driving, has gathered significant traction since its launch in April 2023.
How Natix Works
Natix uses artificial intelligence to analyze the surroundings as users drive.
The app, installed on a smartphone placed on the car’s dashboard, detects various elements such as traffic participants, infrastructure, and road conditions.
This data is then used to create a dynamic map that can be utilized for smart city and mobility applications.
Alireza Ghods, the founder of Natix, explained in an interview in the alpha please newsletter.:
“Our AI detects two to three categories of events right now. The first category is traffic participants, which includes cars, bicycles, pedestrians, scooters, trucks, and so on. The second category is traffic infrastructure, such as traffic signs, traffic lights, fire hydrants, and stop signs.”

Competing with Traditional Navigation Apps
Natix aims to disrupt the market dominated by apps like Google Maps and Waze. The key differentiator is the platform’s use of blockchain technology to reward users for their contributions.
“DePIN addresses this by analyzing the ecosystem and offering token rewards, giving users ownership in the economy. If the economy grows, users benefit financially, unlike early users of Waze who did not benefit from its acquisition by Google.”

The platform also offers additional features to retain users, including a dashcam function for traffic incidents, navigation similar to Waze, and real-time parking availability information.
Privacy and Data Security
In an era where data privacy is a growing concern, Natix has implemented measures to protect user information. The company uses edge computing, allowing AI models to run directly on smartphones with AI-accelerated chips.
Ghods emphasized, “This means images are processed on-device and immediately deleted, with no personal data broadcasted or stored.” He added that this method uses 99% less data compared to competitors.
Future Prospects and Token Utility
Natix has recently launched its token on the Solana blockchain, with plans to integrate with the Peaq Network blockchain as well. The token will have multiple utilities within the ecosystem.
“There are three main uses for our Natix token,” Ghods explained. “First, for validator nodes that authenticate generated data. Second, for network governance, allowing token holders to participate in decision-making. Third, for accessing premium in-app features.”

The company is also exploring partnerships with major map and geospatial data players, with several pilot projects in the pipeline.
These collaborations could potentially lead to significant demand for the data collected by Natix users.
As Natix continues to grow and challenge traditional mapping services, it represents a prime example of how blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies can be applied to real-world problems.
By incentivizing users to contribute data and offering a share in the ecosystem’s growth, Natix is paving the way for a new era of decentralized, user-driven mapping services.
