Justin Sun has spent the past week announcing winners of the Justin Sun Prize on the award’s website, a prize created a few weeks ago for mathematicians using AI to solve long-standing problems in math. So far, six problems have been solved by three individuals.
However, it remains unclear what those winners will receive or when the prizes will be distributed. The prize was announced as being equivalent to $1 million in stablecoins such as Tether or USDC, but those million-dollar payouts are reserved only for solving “pinnacle problems.”
Only seven of those pinnacle problems exist among more than one thousand problems listed on the site. While the site states there will be five categories of problems, it does not clarify what anyone who solves any of the other 1,015 problems will receive.
For the non-pinnacle categories, the site says “the specific capital allocation… will be determined by the Academic Committee.” It is not disclosed who sits on the Academic Committee or how compensation will be decided.
