Members of the watermelon Council are unveiled, ENS is on Görli, and Uniswap is part of Gitcoin Grants.

Your daily distillation of crypto news for Friday, February 8, 2019:

Councilmembers Unite!

Mona El Isa, CEO and co-founder of Melonport, today announced the members of the inaugural watermelon Council. With members ranging from ZK Labs’ Matthew Di Ferrante to Parity’s Fabian Gompf, the council is tasked with overseeing future development of the watermelon protocol.

The governing body is comprised of the watermelon Technical Council (MTC) and representatives from watermelon Exposed Businesses (MEB). The MTC will handle protocol upgrades, resource allocation, network adjustments, and Ethereum Name Service (ENS) subdomain management. On the other hand, MEB representatives will ensure that the needs of businesses using watermelon are met, collaborating with MTC members to raise and address these needs.

Further, the council will be powered by aragonOS, Aragon’s Solidity framework. By using aragonOS, the councilmembers will reportedly be able to govern the watermelon protocol in a secure, transparent, and decentralized way.

ENS Gets Down with Görli

The ENS team tweeted yesterday that “ENS is now deployed on Görli.” The ENS address is the same as the one on the Ropsten testnet.

The tweet also noted that four-week .test registrations are available at a different address. The public resolver, which was recently made compatible with EIP 1577, can be found at resolver.eth. EIP 1577 introduces the contenthash field for ENS resolvers, allowing them to support IPFS or Swarm hashes.

The Görli cross-client testnet was officially launched at GörliCon in Berlin on January 31. Although it was born during ETHBerlin last September, Görli has grown significantly since then. There is even a Görli equivalent, Kotti, on the Ethereum Classic network.

Uniswap <> Gitcoin

In another move toward greater collaboration, Uniswap has joined Gitcoin Grants to make “it easy for anyone to contribute” to the project, according to a tweet from the Uniswap team yesterday. All contributions from now until February 15 will be matched via Gitcoin’s capital-constrained liberal radicalism (CLR) matching program.

Under this system, Gitcoin will ensure that contributions made to its grants program between February 1-15 will be matched, up to $25,000 total. The program represents Gitcoin’s “first formal experiment” with a CLR donation-matching system.
