CoinShares debuted its first UCITS exchange-traded fund (ETF) in Europe on Tuesday, offering investors exposure to publicly listed Bitcoin mining companies through a fund listed on the Deutsche Börse Xetra. The CoinShares Bitcoin Mining UCITS ETF, trading under the ticker MINE, physically replicates the CoinShares Bitcoin Mining Index administered by Solactive AG, according to an announcement from the asset manager.
The ETF began trading at 19.50 euros ($21.74) per share, with data from Deutsche Börse Xetra showing 60 units traded for a turnover of 1,184 euros. For comparison, the similar U.S.-traded CoinShares Bitcoin Mining ETF (WGMI) holds net assets of $343.6 million. Consequently, the European launch expands access to a regulated fund ecosystem valued at $26.3 trillion.
Meanwhile, the Irish-domiciled fund provides European investors with a rules-based, diversified approach to the volatile Bitcoin mining sector without requiring direct cryptocurrency holdings. The fund’s debut marks a significant step for CoinShares in broadening its UCITS platform across the continent.
