Meta is looking forward to a multichain metaverse and continues to implement actions in this direction, and as part of this policy announced support for the Ethereum (ETH), Polygon (MATIC) and Flow (FLOW) blockchains while expanding NFT support on Instagram.
Users will present their NFTs
The major social media platform, Meta, has announced that it will support non-exchangeable digital assets, known as NFTs, for both creators and businesses in 100 additional countries. Instagram users in Asia-Pacific, Africa, the Americas and the Middle East will be able to showcase their digital collectibles.
This development follows a previous trial conducted in May 2022. Meanwhile, posting and sharing NFTs on Instagram comes with zero fees.
Wallets and blockchains in Meta
In addition, Meta revealed that the platform will support specific wallets and blockchains. An excerpt from the announcement states:
“AS OF TODAY, WE SUPPORT CONNECTIONS TO THIRD-PARTY WALLETS INCLUDING RAINBOW, METAMASK, TRUST WALLET, COINBASE WALLET AND DAPPER WALLET. THE SUPPORTED BLOCKCHAINS AT THE MOMENT ARE ETHEREUM, POLYGON AND FLOW”.
In addition, it is known that Meta’s intention as users will soon be able to display NFTs on Facebook.
