- Trump continues pushing for the Crypto CLARITY Act and GENIUS Stablecoin Act to establish US leadership.
President Donald Trump told crypto executives at a White House event on Wednesday that the United States is considering purchasing “sizable” amounts of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. The meeting hosted CEOs from Ripple and Coinbase, where Trump stated, “Certainly it’s been talked about. It’s take a lot of pressure off the dollar.”
The president’s remarks came one day after the SEC proposed rules exempting certain token offerings from existing securities regulations. The proposal could provide crypto companies a clearer path to raise capital and issue digital tokens, marking another step toward a friendlier regulatory framework. According to reports, Trump also called on Congress to pass the Crypto CLARITY Act.
Trump has made crypto a central pillar of his economic agenda since returning to office in January 2025. His administration has pursued policies aimed at clearer rules for digital-asset businesses, pushing legislation including the GENIUS Stablecoin Act and the Crypto CLARITY Act.
Meanwhile, the broader crypto market rallied following the White House summit. Bitcoin climbed above $68,000, while Ethereum reclaimed the $2,000 level during US trading. Solana, XRP, BNB, Hyperliquid, and Dogecoin also advanced as analysts suggested the bear market may finally be ending.
