In particular, Mr. Harrison said he will take an advisory role at the company while planning to remain in the industry. “I have deep gratitude for my experiences at FTX over the past year and a half,” he noted.

Harrison joined FTX, whose parent company is based in the Bahamas, in May 2021 after spending nearly two years at Citadel Securities and did not disclose his next career steps although he promised to assist the exchange for this transition period.

FTX, which was valued at $32 billion earlier this year, is expanding into the US and on Monday said it was to buy Voyager Digital’s assets for $1.4 billion.
