- Strategy bought 267 Bitcoin last week, bringing its total holdings to 848,517 BTC.
- The company expanded its STRC buyback program to $3 billion, with an analyst noting a return to par value could enable larger Bitcoin purchases.
- Other crypto treasuries, including Tom Lee’s Bitmine and Strive, also announced new asset purchases.
Strategy (MSTR) expanded its digital credit securities repurchase program to $3 billion on Monday, even as the company added only 267 Bitcoin to its reserves. The Michael Saylor-backed firm now holds 848,517 BTC alongside $5.3 billion in U.S. dollar assets.
However, VanEck’s head of digital assets research, Matthew Sigel, wrote that STRC briefly traded at $99.90 last week before retreating to $97.72. Sigel noted that STRC’s return to its $100 par value could be critical for Strategy to resume larger Bitcoin purchases through its at-the-market offering.
Meanwhile, Tom Lee’s Bitmine Immersion Technologies (BMNR) purchased $30.3 million worth of Ethereum over the past week. Strive (ASST) also bought 1,223 BTC at an average price of $81,734 per Bitcoin, bringing its total holdings to 36,818 BTC.
MSTR stock gained nearly 2% in pre-market trade, with retail sentiment on Stocktwits trending in bearish territory. Bitcoin edged 0.8% higher in the last 24 hours, holding above $82,500 as retail sentiment remained extremely bearish.
