- A new Solana prediction market called World has been flagged for “suspected phishing” by Cloudflare following a complaint from the similarly-named World Network.
- The biometric firm Tools for Humanity accused the prediction market of brand impersonation to harvest user credentials and data.
- The World project responded defiantly on social media, sharing the complaint email and mocking its accuser.
A new Solana-based prediction market called World faces a “suspected phishing” warning on its landing page after its launch yesterday. This action followed a complaint from the World Network eyeball-scanning firm, which alleged brand impersonation. According to the project, World Network went “crying to [Cloudflare]” to report the site.
World shared an apparent complaint email from Cloudflare on the platform X. The project’s post added, “Sorry we mogged you so badly that Cloudflare had to step in.” An email from a Tools for Humanity representative claimed the site was a “fraudulent phishing site” designed to harvest credentials.
Consequently, the representative requested the site be taken down to prevent financial loss. World jokingly replied that “the world is big enough for both of us,” signing off with a jab at biometric scanning. This dispute highlights ongoing tensions between established crypto-adjacent firms and new decentralized projects.
