Beneficial to the performance of Cardano (ADA) proved to be the Vasil hard fork upgrade according to MuesliSwap, a decentralized exchange built on its blockchain.

According to the data presented, the upgrade has reduced transaction sizes from 14.73 kB to 1.31 kB and fees from 1.44 ADA to 0.73 ADA.

“10 times the space savings at half the cost. That’s what I call innovation,” Cardano creator Charles Hoskinson said of this performance.

The Vasil Hard Fork was designed to increase the scalability of Cardano’s network and was implemented on September 22.

The network’s development team, Input Output Hong Kong (IOHK), noted in this regard:

“The Vasil upgrade will bring significant performance and capability improvements to Cardano: higher performance capability, better experience for developers, improved scripting performance, more efficiency and lower costs.”

In addition, IOHK notes that the Plutus V2 functionality became available to developers on Cardano’s mainnet as of September 27:

“DApps [decentralized applications] using new Plutus V2 scripts and cost model are already seeing the power of the Vasil upgrade. The new features and enhancements in Plutus V2 allow DApp developers to create new and exciting experiences, while the diffusion pipelining unlocks the potential for greater performance and capacity for the network.”
