Radix Wallet Adds Arculus Card Support for Enhanced Security

Radix Wallet Integrates Arculus Card for Enhanced Account Security and Hardware-Based Protection

  • Radix Wallet adds support for the Arculus Card, offering stronger account security and hardware-based protection.
  • Users can now manage accounts, sign transactions, and recover access using the card’s NFC tap feature.
  • The Arculus Card keeps private keys safe on-device and helps defend against attacks.
  • Wallet version 1.17.0 is required and users must have Arculus Card firmware version 2.2.7.6 or later.
  • Card management options include renaming, PIN changes, and recovery steps within the wallet app.

Radix users can now use the Arculus Card as a secure device for account management after a new update to the Radix Wallet. With software version 1.17.0, users are able to sign transactions and recover accounts more securely and conveniently. The move is the second step in the partnership between Radix and Arculus.

The new integration enables users to create and manage accounts or personas, sign transactions with a single NFC tap, and confirm account ownership. The partnership announcement states that the card also acts as a recovery method, strengthening user protections. Hardware-based safeguards offered by the card are designed to make it harder for attackers to gain access, even if a user’s phone is compromised.

The Arculus Card stores private keys directly on the card, preventing them from leaving its secure hardware. Users interact by simply tapping the card on any phone with NFC capability—no cables or charging required. According to Radix, the card is wallet-sized, waterproof, and tamper-resistant, offering greater durability and portability than other hardware solutions.

To begin using the feature, users should ensure their Arculus Card runs firmware version 2.2.7.6 or later, a version number that can be checked in the Arculus Wallet App settings. Pairing the card with the Radix Wallet follows a step-by-step process: add the card in the Security Factors section, set a PIN, and give the card a unique name. Cards already paired can be managed inside the wallet app, where users can rename, change PINs, or recover access if needed.

The update aims to provide both professional-grade security and daily convenience for crypto users. After setup, new accounts or personas can be signed with the card, reinforcing security with each transaction.
