The crypto industry is looking for a new political face for Brussels after the “loss” of Eva Kaili who was its “cheerleader” in the European Parliament.
As reported in an extensive article by Politico, which closely follows the so-called Qatargate, the 44-year-old Kaili was a champion of the cryptocurrency lobby, an industry that has suffered a deep downward spiral in the markets but has also faced major scandals in recent times.
Three members of parliament are now considered Kaili’s heirs, but none of them have the appeal that the Greek MEP had in Brussels.
In fact, she was one of the few pro-crypto voices from the Left that inspired respect in the Commission and the European Council.
Now, cryptocurrency exchange companies should pay close attention to the fall of Kaili as she was already the author of a report for the European Parliament on this nascent sector.
