The collaboration also includes technical talks to integrate EdgeCloud’s decentralized cloud GPUs and edge computing devices to support generative AI and decentralized cloud services in Japan and internationally. “We’ve been deeply impressed by Theta’s native blockchain, a true pioneer in the decentralized media and AI economy,” said Hisao Inagawa, Director of Blockchain Infrastructure at NTT Digital. “By joining Theta’s Enterprise Validator Program and collaborating on next-generation AI infrastructure, NTT Digital aims to bridge telecom-grade blockchain systems with decentralized AI innovation. We’re excited to stand alongside global leaders such as Google, Samsung, Sony, and Deutsche Telekom in helping secure and govern the Theta blockchain. Our long-term vision is to accelerate Japan’s leadership in Web3 and AI by integrating NTT’s trusted network foundation with Theta’s decentralized GPU compute technology.”

“We’d like to welcome NTT Digital to the Theta validator family, this marks a strategic milestone that strengthens the foundation built on our other enterprise validator partners including our recently announced Deutsche Telekom,” said Mitch Liu, co-founder and CEO of Theta Labs. Theta positions its EdgeCloud as a hybrid computing platform with significant distributed GPU capacity and a global edge-node footprint.
