- The program promotes transparency and decentralization with 70% of rewards shared with delegators and 30% to Validators.
Michaël van de Poppe, founder of an investment fund and venture capital firm, has become a Validator on the VeChainThor blockchain. This step follows the implementation of the Hayabusa upgrade and launch of the StarGate staking platform designed to increase community and institutional participation in network security.
Validators maintain network integrity by staking 25 million VET tokens (VeChain’s native currency) and supporting consensus to create new blocks. They select validation periods of 7, 15, or 30 days. The program distributes rewards in VTHO tokens, which are generated through staking. When delegations are involved, 70% of rewards go to delegators and 30% to the Validator.
Through his role, Michaël will contribute educational materials that explain the technological and economic aspects of staking and validation on VeChainThor. His aim is to enhance investor understanding of the system’s security, decentralization, and incentives, reaching audiences beyond existing community members on platforms such as YouTube.
The Validator Program is open to all participants, including individuals, institutions, and enterprise developers. “The Validator Program is open to everyone. Whether you are a community member, an institution, or an enterprise builder, you can help secure the VeChainThor network and play an active role in its long-term growth,” the protocol states. Through StarGate, users can apply, stake VET tokens, mint staking NFTs representing their ownership, and delegate to trusted Validators while maintaining on-chain control.
