The MetaMask wallet and the HyperPlay game launcher have signed a commercial partnership. This agreement will allow adding support for the aforementioned wallet for Ethereum and other networks to all games in the EpicGames and GOG.COM app stores.
According to the announcement, published by the MetaMask team this November 2, the partnership will give players the possibility to obtain non fungible tokens (NFT) and other achievements, stored directly in their self-custodial wallet.
Developers who want to add this type of gameplay with NFT and tokens to their games, already have a development kit (SDK), to be implemented.
HyperPlay will be compatible with any cryptocurrency network that incorporates the Ethereum Virtual Machine. Some of them are Ethereum, Polygon and Avalanche, among others.
Among the games already published in the EpicGames and GOG.com stores are Fornite, League of Legend, FIFA 2023 and God of War.
It should be noted that the compatibility of the games with MetaMask, and all that HyperPlay offers, will depend on whether the developers decide to add it. EpicGames, for its part, has already published NFT games in its store, as is the case of Blankos Block Party, a fact that was reported by CryptoNews at the time.
The “beta” version open to the public of HyperPlay, according to the platform’s roadmap, is announced for February 2023. However, an early access will be launched this November 16 for developers to start testing their games.
