FIFA Rivals Mobile Game Launches June 12 With NFT Player Cards and Exclusive Adidas Partnership

  • FIFA Rivals, a mobile soccer game, launches on iOS and Android on June 12.
  • The game features arcade-style play and lets users collect and trade NFT player cards.
  • Mythical Games has signed a multi-year licensing deal with Adidas for in-game branding and items.
  • Players can access exclusive Adidas digital kits, boots, jerseys, and a training facility in the game.
  • The game supports NFT card trading on the Mythical Marketplace, using blockchain technology.

FIFA Rivals, a new mobile soccer game from Mythical Games, is set to release on iOS and Android devices on June 12. The game includes arcade-inspired gameplay and enables users to collect, trade, and use NFT (non-fungible token) player cards as part of its core features.

The launch comes with a multi-year licensing agreement between Mythical Games and sportswear company Adidas. The deal brings branded Adidas digital kits, apparel, and shoes directly into the game, as well as a training facility for player development. Players will be able to earn or buy exclusive Adidas-themed in-game items.

"FIFA Rivals is all about celebrating the global passion for football in a fresh and modern way," said John Linden, co-founder and CEO of Mythical Games. "Bringing Adidas into this world gives players a deeper cultural connection and the chance to represent one of the most iconic brands in football—on and off the pitch." The partnership includes both classic and new Adidas jerseys, “boot” (cleat) releases linked to real soccer player performance, a limited-edition match ball, and a digital training center for upgrading player cards.

Players can build their teams with major clubs and stars, competing in real-time matches against each other. Digital player cards can be collected and traded as NFTs on the Mythical Marketplace, which lets users buy and sell game assets on a blockchain network.

Mythical Games previously released NFL Rivals, another mobile game with officially licensed teams and NFT trading. Its NFT player cards run on Mythos Chain, a network powered by Polkadot technology.

Last month, FIFA said it would launch its own Avalanche L1 blockchain to support the FIFA Collect platform, allowing fans to buy and trade digital collectibles based on real-life soccer players and historic moments.
