However, some Democrats remain dissatisfied with the bill’s crypto ethics language. Consequently, they are sending a counterproposal despite GOP lawmakers describing their own text as a “last, best and final offer” when released Sunday.
“The Democrats who’ve been working on this in good faith are sending a counterproposal,” Senator Mark Warner told Politico as he exited the meeting. Meanwhile, the clock is ticking ahead of the procedural vote.
