On Thursday evening, Apple delisted Pump Fun’s iPhone app from App Stores in the US and India, and the disappearance began trending on social media. The action came one day after the memecoin platform unveiled Custom Pairs, allowing anyone to launch a memecoin quoted against tokenized stocks such as Boeing, Costco, and Trump Media.
In its last post before removal, Pump Fun predicted a “memecoin supercycle that retires everyone reading this,” according to its X post. A worker on the mobile app team stated, “The Pump Fun Mobile App is temporarily unavailable to download from the US & India iOS App Stores.” The worker added that users with the app installed can still operate normally and their funds are safe.
Pump Fun now redirects US and Indian users to its website or its Google Play app, which remains available with over 500,000 downloads. The Canadian App Store listing—published by Maius Imperium Limited of Ireland—is still live. The delisting follows a history of Apple restricting crypto apps, including Binance and Kraken in India over anti‑money‑laundering failures, as reported.
Meanwhile, Pump Fun faces multiple legal challenges. Ten days ago, a New York federal judge allowed RICO claims against parent company Baton Corporation and its founders to proceed, while dismissing securities‑related accusations—plaintiffs in that case peg retail losses as high as $5.5 billion, per the court filing. The platform’s proprietary token, PUMP, slid about 12% over 24 hours and now trades below its ICO debut price of $0.004, down 58% from its all‑time high.
