It provides over 600 times the parsing speed of traditional tools like BeautifulSoup, according to its own benchmarks. Consequently, the DeFi sector faces renewed scrutiny over its reliance on centralized web infrastructure. A notorious 2021 attack on BadgerDAO, enabled by a compromised Cloudflare API key, resulted in a $130 million heist.
The pattern of exploitation has continued through DNS hijacks on protocols like Curve Finance and Aerodrome Finance.
