Theta Network has formed a partnership with Ulsan HD FC, a leading South Korean football club that has won the K League 1 championship for three consecutive years (2022–2024). The collaboration will introduce a generative AI agent on Ulsan HD FC’s official website to serve its fans globally.
As part of the agreement, Ulsan HD FC will join the Theta Network Enterprise Validator Program. This program strengthens the security, governance, and validation functions of Theta’s Layer 1 blockchain, designed specifically for AI, media, and entertainment applications. Ulsan HD FC is now staking to a validator node on the blockchain, joining teams like Olympique de Marseille FC.
Owned by HD Hyundai— a group with over $50 billion in annual revenue and subsidiaries such as Hyundai Heavy Industries and Hyundai Oilbank—Ulsan HD FC combines its sports heritage with a commitment to digital innovation. Earlier this year, Theta also integrated a chatbot with another South Korean club, FC Seoul.
The new AI agent powered by Theta EdgeCloud, which uses decentralized GPU infrastructure, will provide fans with real-time updates on matches, player information, historical statistics, ticketing options, and stadium details in Korean and English. This service aims to enhance interaction with supporters in South Korea and abroad.
Theta Network has established a presence in both traditional sports and esports worldwide. Its network supports AI fan experiences for over 50 global clients, including four top universities in South Korea, Stanford University, and professional sports teams like France’s Olympique de Marseille, the NBA’s Houston Rockets, the NHL’s Vegas Golden Knights, and esports organizations such as Cloud9 and Gen.G.
