The Future Of DAOstack

The team behind the decentralized governance platform has major plans for 2019.

Referred to as “an operating system for collective intelligence,” DAOstack has made significant progress toward a future of decentralized governance. Through its efforts, the organization aims to establish a robust framework to aid in the creation and maintenance of decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs).

After its public token sale in May 2018 and the deployment of its proof of concept, Alchemy, later in the year, DAOstack looks ahead to 2019 with plans for several projects. A key release coming from DAOstack is Alchemy Earth, the team’s first production- and client-ready version of Alchemy.

David Costello, social media manager at DAOstack, told ETHNews in December:

“Alchemy is our budgeting and resource-allocation tool for decentralized organizations. It is an interface that enables potentially thousands of individuals to coordinate towards a common purpose, by proposing and deciding on how to spend funds in alignment with their goals and values.”

Alchemy Earth will reportedly include performance and usability upgrades. Part of this update includes a rewritten Alchemy architecture to address user experience issues. DAOstack believes its code refactoring “will bring Alchemy closer to the experience users expect from modern web applications.”

DAOstack says its forthcoming DAO interface will also “be the first version of Alchemy to connect DAOs with each other using an ecosystem browser.”

Another upcoming release is the Genesis Beta, the next iteration of DAOstack’s community-run DAO; it was originally released as an alpha in June 2018. The beta release will include the most recent version of the Holographic Consensus protocol, which DAOstack maintains “will improve the DAO’s resilience to GEN [DAOstack’s native token] price fluctuations and fortify the game mechanics of staking.”

The team hopes to launch both Alchemy Earth and the Genesis Beta in early 2019.

Additionally, DAOstack notes that the dxDAO, which is based on DAOstack’s infrastructure, will launch soon. Initiated by Gnosis, the dxDAO will govern the DutchX trading protocol and be open to all. Individuals can gain Reputation in the DAO by trading using the DutchX protocol or participating in the Reputation distribution that begins on February 18.

To top off all these efforts, DAOstack has introduced a Community DAO program to allow projects to launch their own DAOs. Regarding this new program, DAOstack believes “that starting a Community DAO and joining DAOstack’s emerging ecosystem is a powerful way to catalyze meaningful user contribution to the project’s goals.”

DAOs have been heralded as having the potential to usher in a “brave new decentralized world.” The work completed by DAOstack may help such a world become a reality.
