  • Actress Tamannaah Bhatia has strongly denied any involvement in a ₹2.4 crore cryptocurrency fraud case in Puducherry.
  • The fraud case involves a Coimbatore-based cryptocurrency company that allegedly defrauded multiple investors after high-profile launch events.
  • Reports suggest both Tamannaah and actress Kajal Aggarwal attended company events where investors were allegedly given luxury cars worth between ₹10 lakh and ₹1 crore.

Bollywood actress Tamannaah Bhatia has issued a formal denial regarding her alleged connection to a cryptocurrency fraud case in Puducherry, describing the circulating reports as “fake, misleading, and false.” The case reportedly involves a ₹2.4 crore fraud that has drawn attention from authorities and raised questions about celebrity endorsements in the cryptocurrency space.

In a statement released to media outlets, Tamannaah addressed the rumors directly, urging responsible reporting while her team investigates the matter. “It has come to my attention that rumors are being circulated alleging my involvement and dealing with cryptocurrency. I’d like to request my friends in the media not to circulate any such fake, misleading, and false reports and rumors. In the meantime, my team is looking into the same to initiate appropriate action,” the actress stated.

The case centers on allegations made by a Puducherry resident named Ashokan, who filed a complaint claiming that he and 10 other individuals were defrauded of approximately ₹2.4 crore by a Coimbatore-based cryptocurrency investment firm. According to the complaint, investors were persuaded to put money into an unspecified cryptocurrency scheme that ultimately failed to deliver promised returns.

Reports suggest that Puducherry Police may seek clarification from both Tamannaah and fellow actress Kajal Aggarwal, who reportedly attended separate promotional events for the company. The complainant allegedly attended a 2022 launch event featuring Tamannaah and another event in Mahabaleshwar where Kajal was present, though no official statement has been released by law enforcement authorities confirming these details.

One notable aspect of the case involves reports that investors at promotional events received luxury vehicles valued between ₹10 lakh and ₹1 crore—gifts that allegedly raised red flags about the company’s legitimacy and business practices. Such lavish incentives have historically been warning signs in investment schemes across various financial sectors, including the cryptocurrency market.

While addressing the legal situation, Tamannaah continues her professional commitments. The “Baahubali” star recently appeared in Netflix’s “Sikandar Ka Mukaddar” alongside Avinash Tiwary and Jimmy Sheirgill. Her upcoming project includes the horror thriller “Odela 2,” where she portrays a sadhvi character.

The case highlights growing concerns around celebrity endorsements in cryptocurrency projects, a sector already facing regulatory scrutiny across India. Neither the company’s name nor specific details about the cryptocurrency involved have been disclosed in the available reports.
