SpaceX posted a $4.4 billion profit for the third quarter of 2026, its first since going public, easily beating Wall Street estimates. Revenue came in at $14.58 billion against the $12.7 billion expected, according to data, sending SPCX stock sharply higher in overnight trading.
The report showed revenue growth of 161% year over year, a stark turnaround from the $541 million loss reported in Q2. Earnings per share hit $0.35 against a $0.15 estimate, while adjusted EBITDA reached $8.81 billion.
Most growth came from the SI solutions and infrastructure unit, which sells AI compute. CFO Bret Johnsen stated: “For SI solutions and infrastructure, revenues were $7 billion, of which $608 million came from the Cursor acquisition.”
Starlink also contributed strongly, adding 1.6 million consumer subscribers for a total of 13.6 million. President Gwynne Shotwell commented: “We had another standout quarter driven by continued growth across our consumer, enterprise, and government businesses.”
The SPCX stock price closed at $147.79 before the release and jumped 9.32% in overnight trading to $161.56. Gains accelerated when Elon Musk told analysts that independent committees at SpaceX and Tesla are studying a merger, calling the idea a good one.
On the call, Musk set a massive target of $500 billion to $1 trillion in annual recurring revenue by the end of 2027. The plan includes less proven ventures like data centers in space and a Mars colony.
