[SBF plotted media manipulation tactics from Google Doc to seek early release from prison][His current public statements mirror his 2023 strategies, including political conversion and targeting Trump for a pardon][Bankman-Fried’s appeals are considered unlikely to succeed, leaving a presidential pardon as his perceived last hope]
From his prison cell in early 2026, Sam Bankman-Fried continues broadcasting calculated messages that starkly mirror a confidential strategy document he authored in January 2023. The former FTX CEO, serving a 25-year sentence for stealing $8 billion from customers, is now executing pre-written plans to exploit media stunts for freedom. His public narrative is being shaped by a coordinated online effort.
That 2023 document, revealed during legal proceedings, itemized 12 desperate ideas to manipulate public perception. For instance, he proposed a fake political conversion, writing “Go on Tucker Carlsen, come out as a republican… Come out against the woke agenda.” Consequently, his recent posts from prison via a proxy now bizarrely attack “Biden bungled crypto” and “Insane Dem woke policies.”
Bankman-Fried also suggested leveraging specific media figures, writing “Have Michael Lewis interview me” and to “Go head to head with Matt Levine on Odd Lots.” However, a jury ultimately convicted him on seven criminal charges, rendering his appeal and retrial requests highly unlikely to succeed. This leaves only one viable path to early release.
That path is a presidential pardon, a tactic used generously by Donald Trump for figures like Ross Ulbricht and Changpeng Zhao. YouTuber Atrioc analyzed the transparent effort, stating Bankman-Fried’s posts are “the most transparent pardon attempt you can imagine.” He summarized the convict’s mindset as simply, “just get me out of here.”
