Radix is set to begin Season 1 of its rewards program soon. Before this new phase, the company will provide a bonus opportunity to previous backers through what it calls Season 0. The decision aims to reward loyal community members while ensuring the focus remains on the growth and engagement in the upcoming season.
According to Radix, Season 0 rewards will not be given out as a flat distribution. Instead, these rewards are structured as a bonus multiplier that is only accessible to users active in Season 1. The more a user participates during the first season, the larger the portion of their Season 0 bonus they can unlock.
“Season 0 rewards won’t be a flat handout. They’ll act as a bonus,” a company statement read. The system measures backing by tracking the amount of XRD (the project’s core token) and related derivatives—such as liquidity staking units and tokens deposited in decentralized applications—held or used during the last 52 weeks. These activity levels are converted into Activity Points and then into Season Points to calculate a Season 0 activity score.
Bonuses are expected to range between 1% and 20% on top of whatever is earned in Season 1. This approach was designed to recognize continued support without skewing results in favor of non-active holders, the company said.
Technical steps, such as weekly snapshots of user holdings and engagement in decentralized applications, are used to ensure fairness and prevent inactivity from being rewarded. Returning users can still take part, but rewards only unlock through participation in Season 1. Holding the core token alone without transactions or activity will not qualify someone for Season 0 rewards.
