Peking University Adopts Theta’s EdgeCloud for AI Research

Theta Labs announced today that Peking University, one of China‘s most prestigious research institutions and a top-10 globally ranked computer science program, has selected its EdgeCloud AI platform for advanced research applications.

The addition marks a substantial expansion of Theta’s academic presence, which includes partnerships with University of Oregon, Korea.edu/sites/en/index.do”>Korea University, and several other prominent institutions.

Research Collaboration and Academic Impact

Professor Zhen Xiao, who leads the initiative at Peking University, brings significant expertise with over 100 published papers and nearly 8,000 citations in distributed systems and AI research.

The partnership has already yielded multiple research papers at major conferences, including:

"I’ve been working with Jieyi and the Theta engineering team for more than two years, and saw the incredible innovation and development that led to the launch of EdgeCloud," said Professor Xiao, highlighting the platform’s sophisticated hybrid GPU infrastructure system.

The professor indicated that his AI lab plans to transition all existing GPU resources to EdgeCloud’s hybrid cloud edge infrastructure, representing a significant vote of confidence in the platform’s capabilities.
