Morgan Stanley is bolstering the Bitcoin market with a sustained buying spree through its exchange-traded fund (ETF) route, helping the cryptocurrency hold the $77,000 level this month. The global investment bank has made 11 separate purchases of Bitcoin via the Morgan Stanley Bitcoin Trust (MSBT) in the last 20 days, with the most recent transaction occurring on Friday and totaling $3.76 million.
According to the latest data from SoSoValue, the MSBT has accumulated roughly $62.2 million worth of BTC in September. The fund currently holds approximately $610.13 million in net assets, and critically, no sell-offs have been recorded during this accumulation phase. This steady influx of institutional capital provides a strong floor for Bitcoin’s price, which has remained range-bound between $75,000 and $78,000 throughout the month. The development signals to retail investors that banking giants may have a long-term commitment to the asset.
However, the broader direction for Bitcoin may soon be determined by political developments. The Clarity Act is set to be tabled in the Senate on Tuesday, with sweeping amendments expected to be added to the final bill text. Market volatility is anticipated as senators cast their votes, and participants are advised to monitor the situation closely before making any entry positions this week.
