The registry is intended to be a one-stop shop for businesses looking to participate in the blockchain industry.

In a September 13 blog post, tech giant IBM announced it was joining blockchain firm HACERA‘s “yellow pages for blockchain” as a founding member.

The new directory, dubbed the Unbounded Registry, was reportedly built using blockchain technology and is intended to be compatible with some of the most popular blockchain platforms, including R3 Corda, EEA Quorum, and the Stellar Network.

The Unbounded Registry is free to use and lists various blockchain projects, including permissioned ones, being undertaken by companies worldwide. Companies that sign up for the registry can describe their project, its current phase, and intended outcomes. This is intended to give likeminded businesses the opportunity to research potential blockchain solutions and determine with whom it wants to collaborate. The registry allows for direct messaging between interested parties.

“As the number of blockchain consortiums, networks and applications continues to grow we need a means to list them and make them known to the world, in order to unleash the power of blockchain,” said Jerry Cuomo, IBM’s vice president of blockchain technologies and author of the blog post.
