High Time For Diplomacy: PotCoin To Sponsor Rodman Trip During US-North Korea Meeting

On Friday, former basketball star Dennis Rodman shared that he’ll be in Singapore for a pivotal meeting between the United States and North Korea. For the second time in as many years, PotCoin is helping Rodman pursue his diplomatic aims.

On June 8, 2018, NBA Hall of Famer and five-time NBA champion Dennis Rodman announced that he will travel to Singapore for the summit between US president Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. Rodman’s excursion is sponsored by PotCoin, a cryptocurrency project that purports to facilitate transactions for the legalized cannabis industry.

About an hour after his first post, Rodman followed up with another photograph.

According to Wikimedia Commons, the photograph was taken in 2009, likely coinciding with Rodman’s appearance on “The Celebrity Apprentice.” Unfortunately, while competing on the show, the former NBA power forward was blamed for misspelling Melania Trump’s name in an advertising campaign and “The Donald” fired him. (Believe me, this is must-watch television.) For what it’s worth, earlier this year, President Trump himself botched his wife’s name, calling her “Melanie” in a tweet welcoming her back to the White House after her extended absence.

Incredibly, this is not the first time that PotCoin has financed one of Rodman’s trips (no pun intended). The pro-marijuana cryptocurrency project, which attempts to provide banking services for pot dispensaries and farmers, helped the ex-Chicago Bull travel to North Korea in June 2017. At the time, the price of PotCoin briefly surged from approximately $0.09 per unit to $0.18 per coin. (For now, the total PotCoin market cap is a little more than $21 million.)

It’s worth noting that the 2018 US-North Korean summit falls exactly one year after Rodman’s most recent trip.

In a world where cryptocurrency companies sponsor ex-basketball stars to potentially help negotiate nuclear nonproliferation, there’s only one thing to say: Be Best, Dennis. Be Best.
