Hedera Developer Day Denver Feb 2026

Hedera announces 2026 upgrades: new throttles, fee model, Python AI SDK, DevDay, and Ethereum compatibility.

  • The Hedera network will introduce a high-volume throttle system for entity creation (HIP-1313) alongside a new fee model (HIP-1261) for enhanced predictability.
  • A new Python SDK for the Hedera Agent Kit has been launched, enabling AI developers to build on-chain agents more easily.
  • Hedera DevDay, a developer-focused event, is scheduled for February 17, 2026 in Denver, coinciding with ETHDenver.
  • The community project Hgraph has released a new ERC token data indexer, providing a single GraphQL endpoint for analytics.
  • HIP-1340 will bring Ethereum Pectra-era EOA Code Delegation to Hedera, allowing accounts to delegate execution to smart contract code.

Michiel Mulders from Hedera announced key upgrades scheduled for 2026 at their community call, which is now available online. These protocol upgrades reflect a year of significant progress, detailed in the official January Developer Highlights blog post. The improvements include more precise smart contract throttling and a sophisticated model for high-volume entity creation to handle network congestion.

Consequently, the final chapter of their hackathon series is now open for registration. These developer resources aim to simplify building on Hedera. Notably, a new Python SDK for the Agent Kit has been released for AI-native developers.

Tutorials on forking the network with Hardhat and Foundry were also featured. Meanwhile, Hgraph launched an ERC token data indexer to provide unified analytics.

Several core protocol changes are defined by new Hedera Improvement Proposals. HIP-1313 for high-volume throttles and HIP-1261 propose a clear, predictable fee model. HIP-1340 will introduce Ethereum-style account delegation, and HIP-1195 enables programmable hooks on native entities.

Developers are also reminded about the deprecation of Alpha State Proofs. Registration for the community’s flagship event, Hedera DevDay, is now open. This event will take place in Denver on February 17, 2026.
