- The pseudonymous leaker CyberLeek released the first story spoiler of GTA VI, showing a key protagonist.
- CyberLeek’s crypto token $CYBERLEEK surged from a $40,000 market cap to $25 million before falling 70% to $7.5 million.
- Rockstar Games admitted the game is unfinished and said the team is “heartbroken” by the leaks.
CyberLeek, the pseudonymous X user behind recent GTA VI leaks, released what Forbes journalist Paul Tassi warned his followers was the game’s “first true spoiler” today. The footage shows one of the game’s key protagonists, marking a shift from earlier free-roam gameplay leaks.
Consequently, CyberLeek pleaded with followers to continue supporting their crypto token $CYBERLEEK. The token shot up from a $40,000 market cap to over $2 million on August 18 and hit $25 million by August 23, but it has since fallen 70% from that peak to $7.5 million.
Meanwhile, Rockstar Games finally addressed the leaks today, admitting the game isn’t finished. The studio said, “While it is unfortunate that the intended game experience may now be impacted by some spoilers, we hope that everyone will wait a bit longer.”
CyberLeek’s actions also threaten to disrupt a major extended gameplay reveal planned for Netflix this Thursday. Take-Two, Rockstar’s parent company, has been seeking subpoenas against Microsoft, Discord, and X to expose the leaker.
