Anthony Shnayderman, a defendant in an illegal gambling case connected to NBA coach and Hall of Famer Chauncey Billups, has had approximately $400,000 in ether (ETH) removed from his cryptocurrency wallet. The transfer took place six days ago and is likely the result of a seizure by the FBI or another government agency.

Reports indicate that 100 ETH were moved out of Shnayderman’s wallet after a test transaction, a common government tactic to confirm control over digital assets. Shnayderman, known for using a Bored Ape avatar on his social media accounts, has openly involved himself in illegal sports gambling, often assuring others on the platform X (formerly Twitter) that he could identify winning bets.

The identity of any individuals who accepted Shnayderman’s offers remains unknown. Another user, Mustafa Omar, known as “FreeMoose_NBA” on X, spoke on the Pablo Torre Show about a network of NBA-related gamblers and money launderers.

While accused of cheating on sports bets and aiding money laundering, Shnayderman also pursued legal actions. In 2022, after PayPal froze about $130,000 in cash and cryptocurrency in his account due to alleged gambling activity, he sued the company claiming damages exceeding $1 million. He also filed a class-action lawsuit against OpenSea, accusing the marketplace of selling unregistered securities, although that case was voluntarily dismissed.

Shnayderman has been an active figure in the cryptocurrency and NFT communities. He purchased the Bored Ape featured on his profiles in 2022 for around $280,000, and none of the NFTs in his wallet have been sold since his indictment. A dispute arose with another Bored Ape buyer who accused Shnayderman of undervaluing a stolen NFT.
