Chinese Programmer Sends $2M in ETH to WikiLeaks with Cryptic Military Claims

Mysterious $2M Ethereum Donation to WikiLeaks Includes Surveillance Warning Message

  • A significant cryptocurrency donation of 711.5 ETH (approximately $2 million) was made to WikiLeaks.
  • The donor, operating under the pseudonym “Hu Lezhi,” included an unusual message about military surveillance.
  • The transaction contained allegations about widespread use of nano-computer chips for civilian control.
  • The donation was publicly recorded on the Ethereum blockchain with a verifiable timestamp of February 17.
  • This represents one of the larger cryptocurrency donations to WikiLeaks in recent years.

A mysterious Chinese programmer has transferred 711.5 Ethereum (ETH) tokens, valued at approximately $2 million, to WikiLeaks, accompanying the donation with controversial claims about military surveillance technology. The transaction, recorded on February 17, included an unusual on-chain message alleging widespread deployment of neural control systems.

The donor, identifying as Hu Lezhi, posted a message on the Ethereum blockchain stating: “Brain-computer chips have been deployed militarically on a large scale. All military powers are using base stations, radios and nano-brain-computer chips to control all citizens.”

The transaction marks a significant contribution to WikiLeaks, which has historically received cryptocurrency donations as an alternative funding method since traditional payment channels were restricted in 2010. The organization began accepting Bitcoin donations in 2011 and later expanded to include other cryptocurrencies.

Such on-chain messages, permanently recorded on the Ethereum blockchain, are becoming increasingly common as a means of making public statements. The transparency of blockchain technology allows anyone to verify the transaction details, including the message content and exact timing, while potentially obscuring the sender’s real identity through pseudonymous addresses.

The donation’s timing coincides with increased global discussion about privacy concerns and surveillance technology, though the specific claims made in the message remain unverified by independent sources.
