Bitdeer Sells BTC, Faces SEAL04 Chip Class-Action Suit Today

Bitdeer Shares Rally After Hours Despite Selling Off Bitcoin

  • Bitdeer sold 99.1 BTC during the week, leaving 1,900.9 BTC on its balance sheet.
  • The company mined 137.7 BTC and sold 137.9 BTC, producing a net decline in holdings.
  • Shares rose in after-hours trading despite the Bitcoin sales; retail chatter increased to high levels.
  • Matthew Sigel suggested that leveraged 2x ETFs could boost trading in mining stocks.
  • Bitdeer faces a class action over delays and performance of its SEAL04 mining chip, per the complaint.

Bitdeer reported a weekly reduction in its Bitcoin reserves, selling 99.1 BTC and leaving total corporate holdings at 1,900.9 BTC as of Friday, according to a post on X. The firm said it produced 137.7 BTC and sold 137.9 BTC in the period, and noted the figures reflect “pure holdings, excluding customer deposits.”

The stock moved higher in after-hours trading after closing the regular session at $11.51, down 1.88% for the day, and trading around $11.73, up 1.91% in after-hours. Retail sentiment on social platforms remained in neutral territory while discussion volumes rose from normal to high levels.

Matthew Sigel, head of digital assets research at VanEck, wrote on X that “2x ETFs [are] en route” for mining names, a move he suggested could lift liquidity and trading activity across the miner complex.

Social commentary also highlighted Bitdeer’s U.S. expansion and Ohio mining footprint; a post by McNallie Money referenced the company’s operating and pipeline sites in the state and noted local power connections, as shown on X. There were no reported insider buy or sell transactions in the past 12 months.

A class action complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York alleges misleading statements about the timeline and energy efficiency of the SEAL04 chip; the suit cites a November 2025 disclosure that the chip was “significantly delayed,” with early samples at 6–7 J/TH versus a previously stated 5 J/TH target. The allegations remain unproven, and the company has not admitted wrongdoing, according to the complaint linked here: complaint.
