- Strive (ASST) shares have nearly doubled in August, vastly outperforming other crypto-linked equities after Bitcoin rallied above $80,000.
- Strategy (MSTR), the largest Bitcoin treasury, gained roughly 36% in August, as smaller holdings like ASST offer higher price sensitivity to Bitcoin’s moves.
- GameStop (GME) fell over 17% in August despite the crypto rally, because it pledged nearly all its Bitcoin as collateral for covered-call options.
Strive (ASST) stock is on track to nearly double this month, rocketing over 95% in August as Bitcoin’s rally from roughly $60,000 to above $80,000 lifted crypto-linked equities. The surge outpaced the largest Bitcoin treasury, Strategy (MSTR), which gained around 30% during the same period.
Retail sentiment around ASST has been in the “extremely bullish” zone over the past week, with chatter at “extremely high” levels. MSTR stock gained roughly 2% in pre-market trade, with sentiment dropping to “bullish” from “extremely bullish.” Strive holds about 21,356 BTC, compared with Strategy’s more than 840,000 Bitcoin, which explains its higher sensitivity to price movements.
Consequently, GameStop (GME) missed the rally, falling more than 17% even as Bitcoin surged. The company purchased 4,710 BTC in May 2025 for roughly $500 million but soon pledged nearly all of those holdings as collateral for covered-call options sold to Coinbase Credit. According to the report, accounting rules require GameStop to remove those coins from its balance sheet, leaving it largely disconnected from the latest price action. Meanwhile, Bitcoin edged higher by 0.7% in the last 24 hours, still trading below the $80,000 mark seen last Thursday.
