- Nvidia’s board expanded its share-repurchase authorization by $150 billion, bringing the total to $235 billion through fiscal 2028.

Cathie Wood’s ARK Invest reshuffled its portfolio on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, buying $81 million in Nvidia (NVDA) stock and selling roughly $110 million in Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) shares. The trades occurred across four of ARK’s ETFs.
According to reports, ARK purchased 356,681 shares of Nvidia shortly after the company’s board expanded its share-repurchase authorization by $150 billion. That move raised the total repurchase capacity to $235 billion through fiscal 2028, which many analysts view as a strong vote of confidence.
ARK sold 181,767 shares of AMD across the same four ETFs. Nvidia’s stock has risen about 22% in 2026, while AMD has skyrocketed roughly 184% during the same period.
It is possible that ARK is booking profits on its AMD holdings while betting on Nvidia to deliver bigger gains for the rest of the year. Both companies have been among the biggest beneficiaries of the AI boom, with Nvidia reaching an all-time market cap of $5.56 trillion in September 2026.
AMD also hit a peak of $615.52 last month, finally breaching the $1 trillion market cap milestone. Wall Street analysts remain increasingly bullish on both firms, though some worry about a potential AI bubble that could severely impact the stock market if it bursts.
