US Spot Bitcoin ETFs Reverse Outflows with $355M Inflows Now

U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs reverse seven-day outflow with $355M inflows—BlackRock’s IBIT leads; spot Ether and XRP also see inflows amid improving liquidity.

  • U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs reversed a seven-day outflow streak with $355 million in net inflows on Tuesday.
  • BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) led with about $143.8 million, followed by Ark 21Shares (ARKB) and Fidelity’s FBTC.
  • Spot Ether ETFs also saw inflows of $67.8 million, while spot XRP ETFs extended a 30-day inflow streak with $15 million.
  • Analysts point to improving global liquidity and upcoming Federal Reserve Treasury bill purchases totaling about $8.2 billion.

U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds drew $355 million in net inflows on Tuesday, ending a seven-day run of cumulative outflows. The shift came after funds had recorded roughly $1.1 billion in net outflows over the prior seven trading days and $744 million of outflows in December.

BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) led Tuesday’s inflows with about $143.8 million. It was followed by Ark 21Shares Bitcoin ETF (ARKB) at roughly $109.6 million and Fidelity’s Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC) with about $78.6 million. Smaller inflows included Bitwise (BITB) $13.9 million, VanEck (HODL) $5.0 million, and Grayscale (GBTC) $4.3 million.

The heaviest selling during the prior week occurred on Friday, when funds shed about $275.9 million. Spot Ether ETFs ended a four-day outflow streak with $67.8 million in net inflows after losing more than $196 million across the previous four sessions; the largest single-day outflow was about $95.5 million on Dec. 23. Spot XRP ETFs added about $15 million, extending their 30-day inflow run.

Market commentators cited improving liquidity as a factor. According to Arthur Hayes, “$ liq likely bottomed in Nov and is inching higher,” which he said favors a renewed push in crypto markets. Crypto commentator Mister Crypto said global liquidity indicators were “going vertical,” and noted forthcoming Fed Treasury bill purchases; a chart shared by Mister Crypto showed the Fed is set to inject about $8.2 billion into markets (chart).

Definitions: An ETF is an exchange-traded fund — an investment fund traded on stock exchanges. Liquidity means the availability of cash or assets that can be quickly converted to cash in markets. “Spot” refers to immediate settlement for asset trades (e.g., spot Bitcoin or spot Ether).
