In a post on Thursday, Twitter staff product manager Esther Crawford said the crypto tips feature would be available for IOS globally and they plan to roll it out for Android users in the coming weeks. The option will let users link some financial apps that include Cash App, Patreon, Venmo, Chipper, Bandcamp, Razorpay, GoFundMe, PicPay, and WealthSimple. The apps you can use depend largely on your region. You can add links to the apps on your profile and tweets to receive funds.

“We want everyone on Twitter to have access to pathways to get paid,” said Crawford. “digital currencies that encourage more people to participate in the economy and help people send each other money across borders and with as little friction as possible help us get there.

In addition to linked services, twitter tips are available through the Bitcoin lightning network, which sends payments using the Strike app, or by adding a BTC address directly to one’s profile. The most interesting news is that Twitter won’t take any cut from your BTC or cash payments.
