He delivered a keynote speech asserting the nation should be the world’s “undisputed crypto capital and Bitcoin superpower.” Trump called Bitcoin “very powerful” and noted its growing use for payments.
He cited the GENIUS Act, which he signed into law last July, as a foundational framework for dollar-backed stablecoins. “We want free enterprise,” Trump said, warning against nonsensical rules that could stifle innovation. Consequently, he linked this crypto-friendly approach to preserving America’s status as the world’s financial capital.
Meanwhile, Bitcoin’s price traded near $66,759, up 1% over 24 hours. However, according to data from Stocktwits, retail sentiment for Bitcoin remained “extremely bearish.” Chatter levels around the asset improved from “low” to “normal” on Friday.
Trump also emphasized artificial intelligence as a major growth sector and premier investment opportunity. He stressed the U.S. must remain number one in AI, claiming a current lead over China. His administration is committed to avoiding policies that could slow the sector’s rapid development.
The Future Investment Initiative is a global forum launched by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund. President Trump also attended the event last year in Riyadh.
