Tesla Inc. has recalled a total of 63,619 Cybertruck vehicles from model years 2024 to 2026, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The recall addresses concerns that the vehicle’s front parking lights may emit light that is too bright, which could pose a risk to other drivers.
The affected vehicles were built from November 13, 2023, through October 11, 2025. The NHTSA reported that the vehicle controller software may cause the parking lights to surpass maximum brightness regulations. To resolve the issue, Tesla released a free over-the-air software update, beginning on October 8.
Regulators stated there have been no warranty claims, field reports, crashes, injuries, or fatalities linked to this defect. The company identified the problem during a regular review on October 1 and proceeded with the recall after conducting an internal investigation.
Bright front parking lights can hinder the vision of other drivers, potentially increasing the risk of an accident, noted the NHTSA. Additional details on the recall are available in the official NHTSA report.
In financial updates, Tesla reported third-quarter adjusted earnings of $0.50 per share, below analyst estimates of $0.56. However, revenue grew by 12% to $28.1 billion, surpassing expectations. The recall coincided with a decline in the company’s share price, which dropped 4% during premarket trading.
Tesla shares remain up by 9% for the year and have more than doubled over the past twelve months.
