- Tamannaah Bhatia has firmly denied allegations connecting her to a 2.4 crore INR cryptocurrency fraud case.

- Bhatia has announced plans to pursue legal action against the spread of what she calls “fake, misleading, and false reports.”
Actress Tamannaah Bhatia is taking decisive action against allegations linking her to a cryptocurrency fraud worth INR 2.4 crore. The popular film star has categorically denied any involvement with cryptocurrency dealings and announced plans to pursue legal recourse against what she terms baseless rumors damaging her reputation.
In an official statement to Hindustan Times, Bhatia addressed the circulating claims directly: “It has come to my attention that rumors are being circulated alleging my involvement and dealing with cryptocurrency. I’d like to request my friends in media not to circulate any such fake, misleading, and false reports and rumors.” The actress further confirmed that her team is investigating the matter to initiate appropriate legal action.
## The Alleged Cryptocurrency Scheme
According to reports from February 28, both Tamannaah Bhatia and actress Kajal Aggarwal were potentially facing questioning by Puducherry Police regarding a cryptocurrency fraud case. A complainant named Ashokan, a Puducherry resident, alleged that he and 10 others were defrauded of INR 2.4 crore by a firm based in Coimbatore.
The complaint specifically claimed that Bhatia attended the company’s launch event in 2022, while Aggarwal reportedly appeared at a subsequent function in Mahabaleshwar. As of publication, police authorities have not issued any official statement addressing these allegations or confirming whether the actresses will be questioned.
## Defending Professional Reputation
Bhatia’s swift response highlights the serious nature of cryptocurrency-related allegations in India‘s evolving digital finance landscape. The actress emphasized her commitment to protecting her reputation against unfounded claims while urging media outlets to exercise caution when reporting on such sensitive matters.
While addressing the cryptocurrency accusations, Bhatia is simultaneously focusing on her professional commitments. Her upcoming supernatural thriller Odela 2 will feature the actress in the role of a sadhvi (female ascetic), as recently showcased in a teaser unveiled at the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj.
This case emerges amid increased regulatory scrutiny of cryptocurrency operations across India, with multiple high-profile fraud investigations occurring in recent years. Earlier reports had indicated that Bhatia was questioned by the Enforcement Directorate in a money laundering case linked to HPZ Token App, with no incriminating charges found, though the current allegations appear to be separate from that investigation.
