The reimagined awards program, previously known as “the Sandies,” expanded to 20 categories this year, reflecting the platform’s diverse content ecosystem. Game Maker Fund Program Manager PJ told Decrypt, “We went back to the roots of what it was initially—which was votes by community members, for experiences made by the community.”

Global Recognition and Technical Innovation

Chinese developer Lululand emerged as the dominant force in this year’s competition, with their project Serenity claiming three major awards including Best Experience. The project features an immersive narrative centered around a phantom spirit character in a surreal environment.

Other notable winners include:

  • ERM Labs (Taiwan) – Best Puzzle Experience for The Great Pyramid of Giza
  • Sandja (Thailand) – Multiple awards including Best Shooter Experience and Best Narrative

Platform Growth and Future Development

  • 1,300 active experiences
  • Partnerships with major brands including Snoop Dogg and Attack on Titan

The platform’s upcoming version 0.11 of the Game Maker tool aims to provide enhanced capabilities for creators. According to platform representatives, additional revenue opportunities will be available through expanded Builder Challenges and Game Jams.
