Pudgy Penguins and Mythical Games have globally launched Pudgy Party, a new mobile game now accessible on both Android and iOS. The game is designed around a party genre, offering players the chance to compete in quick, high-energy mini-games resembling those found in Fall Guys and Stumble Guys.

According to the companies, Pudgy Party lets players control Pudgy Penguins, characters that have gained popularity through social media and retail products. As players join the game, they are automatically set up with a digital wallet, connecting them to Web3 features without requiring any technical steps.

“Every player that comes in, they’re automatically onboarded into a wallet,” explained Mythical Games CEO John Linden. He said most users will not notice the blockchain integration, which runs on the Mythos Chain built on Polkadot, allowing the technology to operate in the background. In-game assets like outfits and emotes can be upgraded, traded, or minted as NFTs, and exchanged through the game’s marketplace.

The game opens with its first seasonal event called “Dopameme Rush,” which highlights internet memes and offers both free and paid event passes along with leaderboards and competitions. Pudgy Penguins CEO Luca Netz targets tens of millions of downloads for Pudgy Party, aiming to make it a top app on mobile stores.

“My hope is we can actually push and make this a top app on the App Store, period,” Netz told Decrypt. He expects the game to attract significant attention beyond the crypto community, forecasting that well-known streamers may showcase gameplay and that tournaments with prize pools could help drive user engagement.

Mythical Games previously developed notable Web3 titles like FIFA Rivals and NFL Rivals. The company and its partners want Pudgy Party to become a lasting franchise and reach a broad player base worldwide. As Linden stated, “We want to help them take this into the gaming world and have something that can be around and played by literally hundreds of millions of people over a period of time.”
